Difference between IVLE, CORS, Student Intranet & Nexus

I’ve received some emails from students seeking clarification for the various systems which they have to use. Here’s a brief explanation of the various systems and also the role that Nexus plays.

IVLE (Integrated Virtual Learning Environment) is the elearning platform for NUS, all your elearning needs are addressed via IVLE (http://ivle.nus.edu.sg).

Updated Messages with a news ticker, important messages e.g CORS will be shown in the news ticker and messages section
Added a “Important Info for Students” tab, which contains important information as well as links to various resources in NUS

Updated the RSS reader component so that it can read almost all RSS types
Add RSS function now grabs the title & icon of the rss feed automatically
IFrame widget now grabs the icon of the site it is referring to automatically
Added a border around the tab function icon so that its easier to know where to [...]

It has been almost a month since Nexus was launched to the whole of NUS.
Things are shaping up pretty good so far, with a fair number of repeat visitors and good comments
Going to demo this to fresh SDE students later during lunch time.
