Mechanisms and therapeutic targets

Inflammatory processes in the CNS are a trade off between neuroprotection and tissue damage. I am interested in further characterizing the myriad factors underlying pro- and anti-neuroinflmmatory pathways, as well as studying their involvement in various neurological diseases including stroke and neurodegenerative diseases.  Related to this inquiry, I am interested in studying the use of natural products as potential anti-neuroinflammatory therapeutics.
