East, West, world growth is the best (Review, Page A24)
In the “Ask: NUS Economists” column in today’s edition of The Straits Times, there was an article contribution by Professor Danny Quah, Tan Chin Tuan Visiting Professor at the NUS Department of Economics. Prof Quah, who is also a Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics, discussed whether the United States was protecting the global economy, or just its own self-interests, in its response to its trade problems and the rise of China.
This weekly column features a panel of NUS economists who will address questions on international or domestic economics.
