FASS Summer School: Southeast Asia In Context 2012

Dear students

Are you keen to learn more about Southeast Asia? Then there is good news.

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences has, for the last 6 years run a summer school, hosted by the Department of Southeast Asian Studies. This Summer School is designed to provide you with the opportunity to live, study, and travel together, making it a valuable learning experience that extends beyond normal classroom-related activities. Participants of the Summer School are exposed to the region through lectures, popular media, group activities and fieldtrips to different parts of Southeast Asia. You will also be interacting with students from Yale and Copenhagen as well as other member universities from IARU; we will also be welcoming students from the University of California campuses, King’s College London, London School of Economics and University of Birmingham.

The application for the summer school 2012 has just opened. The e-flyer attached has information concerning the summer school; alternatively please surf to our website for application details on the programme. The deadline for application is 16 March 2012. And for NUS students, we will be subsidizing up to 100% instead of only 50% of the fieldtrip cost of the summer school; which is about $1500.
