Research Collaboration Talk with Prof Richard T Legates, Sept 5th

Dear members of FASS Cities Research Cluster,

You are invited to meet with Professor Richard T Legates at 4pm on Wednesday 5th September (venue: Exec Seminar room on level 1 AS7) .

Richard is Professor Emeritus of Urban Studies and Planning at San Francisco State University. His core research interest is in urban planning (resume and other info available upon email request to me). He is in Singapore primarily to give a seminar on “Coordinated Urban-Rural Development and Urban-Rural Land Linking Policy in Chengdu” at the NUS Global Asia Institute (on Thursday September 6 at 12:00 Noon in NUS University Hall, Lee Kong Chian Wing, Level 6).

Richard has requested a meeting with urban scholars at NUS who are interested in issues relating to:

– Teaching urban studies and urban planning (he is co-editor of the City Reader, now into its 5th edition – info attached)
– Urbanization in China (he is co-editor of a Chinese City Reader –see attached info)
– Urban development and planning in Singapore
– The use of GIS in urban studies teaching and research
