Submissions Guide

1. ELT World Online is interested in receiving submissions of three types:

btn_more Features (approximately 3000 words) focusing on a wide range of ELT issues and well grounded in current theory
btn_more Activities That Work (approximately 2000 words) focusing on specific ideas for classroom practice
btn_more Media Reviews (approximately 1000 words) with relevance to ELT practitioners and language learners

2. All submissions should comply with the following requirements:

btn_more All documents should be in MS Word format.
btn_more Please use Times New Roman, font size 12.
btn_more Use 1.5 spacing between lines.
btn_more Avoid footnotes wherever possible. When they are absolutely essential, insert footnotes and not endnotes.
btn_more For in-text citations, please follow the APA guidelines. Please refer to this document.
btn_more Paragraphs should be indented. Insert double spacing between paragraphs, except when following a side heading, double-indented quotation, or figure, chart or table.
btn_more Please provide four keywords for feature articles and for submissions to “Activities That Work.” This will assist readers of ELT World Online in retrieving and searching of the same topic or theme.
btn_more An abstract of 100-150 words should be provided for Feature and Activities That Work articles only.
btn_more A personal statement of 50 words or less of relevant autobiographical information (where you teach, what you teach, what your interests are, etc.) should be provided.

3. ELTWO encourages authors to attach or embed relevant image, audio and video files via the use of hyperlinks in the articles. Here are some suggested hosting sites for image and audio-video files that authors may like to consider:

btn_more www.youtube.com or other similar sites for video files
btn_more www.flickr.com or other similar sites for image files

For images or illustrations that appear in the article, authors should ensure that they are appropriately inserted into the text or article. The image files should be in jpeg format and not exceeding 1MB in size in total.

4. Submissions should be accompanied by the following details:

btn_more Name as it should appear in your submission (if published)
btn_more Full postal address
btn_more Email address
btn_more Institution where you are employed
btn_more Job title
btn_more A recent photo

5. A citation of any article in ELTWO should appear as follows:
