The CARE logo has been redesigned to better reflect the ethos of the research lab.
Most sharp edges have been rounded off to soften the look of the logo. The largest change however, is to the CCA symbol. While it still retains its three centrally-directed arrows (each representing culture, structure, and agency), they’ve also been made to look like individuals raising their arms, either in protest or in freedom. This new symbol illustrates the performance of struggle and agency in the everyday lives of marginalized communities. It also reminds us that emancipatory social change research and activism have to directed from the inside-out.
