iterasi is a hybrid social bookmarking and web archival tool which is very handy for online research. Think of it as your personal Wayback Machine with Delicious capability.
Let’s say that you come across an interesting web page that you want to bookmark, such as – iterasi: is the URL always enough?
You could use bookmark it on your browser. But that would only store the bookmark on that particular computer – a problem for people who use more than one.
You could use a social bookmarking tool like Delicious to bookmark it. This allows you to access your bookmark where ever there is internet access. It also shows you how many other people have bookmarked it, lets your contacts (who are presumably interested in similar things) know that you’ve added a bookmark via your feed and allows you to tag the bookmark with keywords so that your online bookmarks are organzied.
But what happens if that page disappears? Or if the original content is edited? What if you want to see the site exactly as you found it on that particular visit?
Never fear, iterasi is here.
